The Cost-Effective N5172B EXG
The Keysight N5172B EXG is a X-Series RF Vector Signal Generator that offers 9 kHz to 3 GHz frequency range and a simulation of real-time signals with Signal Studio software (license required). This device is designed for efficient manufacturing tests, making it ideal for comprehensive component testing and receiver verification.
Compared to the first-generation MXG, the EXG provides similar performance and significant enhancements. It starts with an attractive entry price and more capability in areas such as output power, Adjacent Channel Power Ratio (ACPR), Error Vector Magnitude (EVM), bandwidth, and memory. To meet evolving test requirements, you can scale up EXG performance and capability as needed: add higher output power, a real-time baseband generator, or a built-in multi-function generator. It's optimized for manufacturing with faster throughput and greater uptime at the right price.
With the EXG you'll work more seamlessly. It can be controlled from the front panel as usual and can automate test systems using the same SCPI commands via LAN, GPIB, or USB. Engineers can easily upgrade an existing EXG with power meter calibration at their site.
What is Signal Studio?
Signal Studio is signal creation software that runs on a PC. It enables the creation of application specific test signals at baseband, RF and microwave frequencies. Signal Studio comes with performance-optimized signals validated by Keysight. You can easily modify these signals to meet your needs. Or you may quickly create custom reference signals for testing devices. Its fast and simple user interface features tree-style navigation and graphical, parameterized signal configuration.
Next-Generation Signal Creation
Reduce the time spent on signal creation with PathWave Signal Generation software (license required). It provides a more integrated and optimized user experience across different platforms and includes additional features such as waveform utility and toolkit.
Perform advanced receiver testing, compatible with the latest standards, using the EXG and PathWave Signal Generation software. This involves defining signal parameters, transferring them to the instrument, and using closed-loop or interactive control during signal generation. The suite of signal-creation tools the software offers addresses cellular communications, wireless connectivity, audio, video, positioning, tracking, and general-purpose applications.
Discover The EXG X-Series
